Army Accreditation
The Army Accreditation is an Institutional Accreditation in which the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Quality Assurance Office conducts an overall review of the entire school, from its operating budgets to its student services utilizing the Army Enterprise Accreditation Standards. The accreditation process is a comprehensive review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications, and curricula. The process includes self-evaluations, peer-reviews, committee reviews, and the development of in-depth strategic plans. The Army Accreditation ensures that students are learning material that is most relevant and current to their field of study, preparing them to be effective leaders upon graduation
COE Accreditation
The Council on Occupational Education is a specialized accreditation conducted by a non-governmental, non-profit corporation which assures quality and integrity in career and technical education. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the Council on Occupational Education awards accreditation based on an evaluation to demonstrate that the institution meets not only the standards of quality of the Commission, but also the needs of students, the community, and employers. Membership in the Council can only be achieved through accreditation. Members include postsecondary technical institutes, specialized military and national defense schools, Job Corps Centers, private career schools, non-profit technical education providers, corporate and industry education units, and federal agency industries with over 500 institutional members at this time.
Accreditation Importance:
As a student: Accreditation provides assurance that the program in which you are enrolled or are considering enrolling is engaged in continuous review and improvement of its quality, that it meets endorsed standards in the profession, and that it is accountable for achieving what it sets out to do.
As a faculty member: Accreditation provides a formal process for ongoing evaluation and improvement of the program and faculty development outcomes, a process by which faculty, students and administration can work together in advancing the educational institution's mission.
As a member of the public: Accreditation ensures public accountability of a program or an institution -- that it has the means and demonstrates the outcomes for its educational process that are consistent with its goals and objectives.
AFMS QA Model
The Office of Quality Assurance ensures that the necessary educational and training, safety and quality requirements and standards are properly identified and in place.
It is important to understand that the ADDIE model and POM cycle play important roles in AFMS Learning phases.
The QAO evaluates the effective Strategic Level ADDIE implementation in a
Non-TRADOC environment using the Army Approved Enterprise Accreditation Standards as a guideline in doing so.
