MFMC Course Intro
MFMC Purpose

To instruct students with little or no experience in Army Manpower & Force Management on basic concepts, techniques, and procedures using hands on training with the tools and techniques necessary to apply principles of Manpower and Force Management for the Operating and Generating Forces. The course introduces the skills required to analyze, validate, and document Army force structure. At the completion of the course, students can assist mid-level management personnel within Manpower and Force Management functional areas.

MFMC Scope

MFMC underscores the dynamics of current force structure initiatives, both in the Operating and Generating Forces and their impact on Army Commands, Army Service Component Commands, and Direct Reporting Units. The instruction places a strong emphasis on practical exercises, application/tools, and the importance of requirements determination. The manpower and force management functions are in AR 570-4 and AR 71-32 respectively. Manpower-specific subject areas: requirements determination, manpower documentation, Change Management Plan (CMP), Table of Distribution and Allowance (TDA), and Defense Financial Management. Force Management-specific subject areas: Manpower Requirements Criteria (MARC), Basis of Issue Plan (BOIP), Table of Organization and Equipment (TOE), Total Army Analysis (TAA), and Force Design Update (FDU).

MFMC Prerequisites

The strategic focus of the course requires nominees assigned to positions that require the use of manpower and force management skills. Personnel eligible to attend the course include officers in the grades of 02 to 04, warrant officers in the grades of W1 to W4, noncommissioned officers in the grades of E6 to E8, Department of the Army civilians in the grade of GS07 to GS13, and designated contract man-year equivalent (CME) personnel.
